Thursday and Friday week 19

This is now a mainly plasterboarded and the wall between the living room and kitchen/dining area has now gone up.

Tuesday week 19

The living room ceiling is covered with insulation now ready for masses of plasterboard. There was only supposed to be Nigel on this job today but as it was too rainy for the rest of the crew to do the bricklaying they were going to do elsewhere they were all here and so LOADS was done today.

Friday week 17

Thursday week 17- plumbing

Chris has been doing more plumbing today getting the tails of the plastic pipes tamed. He says it's like wrestling an anaconda!!!!

Wednesday week 17

Chris has been busy putting in the pipework for the radiators in here, there are a couple of 'tails' hanging down now waiting to be connected up. He's also run the TV and internet cables to relevant places. The electrician has been today and put lots of wires all over the place.

Tuesday week 17

At the end of last week I specifically asked one of the builders to make sure that when they knocked through into the house it was on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday when I would be at work. Yesterday they obliged and made a terrible mess, according to Chris, but by the time I got home it was basically sorted. Today however they weren't quite so helpful so they knocked out the corner of the house!!! Noise, mess, dust, etc, etc, etc but they were very good and now we have a huge living room space!
There were 3 builders working on that and 2 others working on the stairs. We have stairs up to the loft now too. They look lovely and will eventually look as though they have been in the house the whole time.

Monday Week 17

Bits of this room are starting to appear, we have windows and they are going to knock the walls out tomorrow. I'm not looking forwards to it but am looking forwards to the result. We will really be able to see the size and shape of the living room.
